Wider Consumer Interests Working Group

Last updated: 14 June 2022

This working group will be looking at consumers interests in relation to food, beyond our food safety and regulatory remit. This includes topics such as health and nutrition, food affordability and food insecurity, and environmental sustainability. This working group will help to guide the FSA on areas, topics and appropriate methodologies to focus on to help FSA build its evidence base.

The working group on wider consumer interests is a new working group and scoping is underway.

The terms of reference for the Working Group have now been agreed amongst the members. The terms of the group will be flexible as the group will need to be reactive in the wider consumer interest space.

The foundational piece of research The Public’s Wider Interests, Needs and Concerns Around Food has now been published. The full report can be accessed here.
